We are proud to introduce our industry Associations…

The Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) was established in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region in 2000. Today, it is the leading industry Association for companies concerned about rising freight crime and which are looking for proven solutions to mitigate risks, prevent cargo losses, and ensure greater supply chain security and resilience.

Freight crime is now one of the biggest threats to business resilience in Europe. In the 18 months (546 days) to 30 June 2026, TAPA EMEA recorded…

  • over 58,000 freight thefts
  • in 101 countries across the EMEA region
  • only 7.8% of crimes reported their loss value
  • the 7.8% = €1,023,038,489 of goods targeted and stolen
  • major freight losses of €100K+ = €1,086,285
  • the average loss every 24hrs = €1,870,271

The need to address this threat is why TAPA EMEA’s membership is at its highest-ever level in the Association’s 26-year history, consisting of over 1,100 member companies, and welcoming more new members every month. The TAPA EMEA network includes many of the world’s biggest manufacturers across multiple industry sectors and leading global logistics service providers, as well as local and regional SME freight forwarding and transport operators, insurers, law enforcement agencies, security service providers, parking place operators, and security consultancies.

TAPA EMEA is enabling its member companies to minimise cargo losses and increase supply chain resilience by combining freight crime intelligence with industry standards and training designed to make supply chains more secure.

In EMEA, TAPA offers four supply chain security Standards, all supported by expert training to assist in the certification process:

  • FSR – Facility Security Requirements
  • TSR – Trucking Security Requirements
  • PSR – Parking Security Requirements
  • CSS – Cyber Security Standard

These Standards, reviewed every 3 years to address new and emerging cargo crime and supply chain security threats, now underpin the operations of companies operating in over 65 countries in the EMEA region.

They are developed on the strength of the freight crime information collated by the TAPA Intelligence System (TIS), which records incidents across the region, including the:

  • Locations of freight crimes
  • Types of facilities or modes of transport targeted
  • Types of goods targeted
  • Values of stolen goods
  • Modus operandi used by cargo criminals

TAPA EMEA also works closely with some 400 law enforcement agency professionals and Europol – the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation – to assist in their crime prevention and investigation work.
